Elderly and young people share spaces more often than what we usually think. Housing with one or at the most two bedrooms for that person who takes care of them at night or for the newly born baby, or for the grandchild coming to visit his grandparents, or for work… Spaces of relation that we can share: corridors, balconies, laundry… A global house, not a building.
A compact volume meets the requirements of the regulations. Garage in the basement, access and day centre on the ground floor, which occupies the entire plot and housing on the upper four floors, with the corresponding recesses. Two communication niches in the party walls with drying areas and storage rooms give regular shape to a complex geometry.

The location of these elements in the same floor as the housings allows for a more continuous use. The main body leads to a kind of cascade of spaces of relationship and rest, interlaced with double heights. Eight housings per floor. The corridor, with direct access to the living area of every housing, looks towards the park while the sleeping-rooms look towards the house-block courtyard. In the centre, bath and kitchen share the shaft for the different installations.
The day centre occupies almost the whole ground floor. The main entrance is through the porch at the south end, nearest to the swimming-pool -the porch closes the small boulevard coming from the main avenue. Although according to the regulations it should be a party wall, there is the possibility of giving to it the treatment of a façade. A longitudinal axis of communications distributes the main areas: firstly the public area with the reception, activities hall, dining room and patio. At the bottom, a passing way to the interior and the areas of restricted use with direct access from the facade, kitchen and storerooms.  Attached to the axis, toilets, lockers and wardrobes. A clear and flexible layout with double orientation East-Wes
