Description of the project:

The location of the project in the bow of the future district from the Halte des Ramassiers and between two landscaped areas are two strong points at the origin of the design of the project.

Architecture is the art of taming constraints. Our project looks upon the reflection of today’s intelligent diversity.

Our goal was to create an object-landscape resonating with the surrounding green spaces – the existing ones and the ZAC project. The existing dovecote on the plot has been preserved and is completely rehabilitated so that the meeting space in the heart of the island revolves around this historical reminiscence of the place.

The project is based on the following principles:

– Create a green lung through the garden at the heart of the island and the greening of the facades

– Invent a new form of master plan: The 63-unit project consists of six independent plots of different heights. The two collective housing buildings constituting a built front on the public space include houses on the last floors resonating with the smaller plots on the scales.

– Concentrate vertical circulation at an external point: The two main buildings are connected by walkways giving access to the accommodation from the elevator and the external common staircase. This makes it possible to optimize circulation, and free up space for shared outdoor spaces that complement the exterior extensions of housing.

This also allows savings in the process of framing the project at a controlled cost.

– Use a biobased construction method mastered by companies: construction in monomur bricks. This also made it possible to frame the project in a realistic economy while obtaining a notable environmental quality – Qualitel BBC Effinergie, Patrimoine Habitat & Environnement
